Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

Not at all. To get quotes, the tool simply needs to know your gender, birthdate, health status, whether you use tobacco, how much coverage you want, and how long the term should last. Those six pieces of information are sufficient for carriers to return their rates. Contact information and detailed health history come into play only if you decide to move forward with an application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

What you see are the quotes from each carrier based on the health classification you indicated. After you apply, the carrier's underwriting process may confirm that classification, upgrade it to a better one, or adjust it—which then changes your actual premium. This site presents estimates, not guarantees. Carriers make the final decision on rates during underwriting.

What happens when I click Apply?

Selecting Apply takes you through a process: first you provide your name, then the application is populated with the exact quote information you selected. From there, the application moves to the carrier's own secure platform where you can save your progress and return later. When ready, you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed agency (License 0B75129), handles the whole process.

Will I need a medical exam?

That depends on the carrier, the coverage amount, and your health responses. Some carriers (labeled as offering Immediate coverage) can underwrite and make decisions on the spot for qualified applicants. The quote screen will always tell you whether each carrier requires an exam, might require one, or won't need one.

Is a longer term better?

The right term length is the one that covers the financial obligations that would hurt your family if you died. That might mean a mortgage, young children, or a business loan. A 30-year term is more expensive each month than a 10-year term, but it locks in the same rate for much longer. The quote tool lets you see side-by-side costs for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year options.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool doesn't ask for your contact information in the first place. We don't sell or trade visitor data. The measurement we use is cookieless. For the full list of what we do collect and who has access to it, check our privacy policy.
